Life is an Experiment
the more you make the better

I've started to observe that life is truly an endless series of a small experiments. In the words of Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg "Everybody’s a mad scientist, and life is their lab. We're all trying to experiment to find a way to live, to solve problems, to fend off madness and chaos." Considering what we and the world are going through right now, have you considered that you are indeed the scientist of your own life?

FAQ

What does nibbana mean?

Derived from the Burmese language, nibbana means heaven on earth, freedom, liberation, perfect peace, total enlightenment, ultimately however, it defies description. It is said that when the Buddha became fully enlightened, he entered nibbana (or nirvana). It also means 'the best there is', 'cool' and 'personal heaven'.

Who founded nibbana?

nibbana was founded by it's Chief Inspiration Officer, Julie Ann Storr on 29 January 2005.

Does this mean nibbana is a Buddhist brand or company?

No, while we highly respect Buddhist values and philosophies, we also recognise that there are many paths to spiritual awareness and enlightenment.

What is your definition of spirituality?

At nibbana, we believe that spirituality unites us, whereas religion can often divide. We recognise that as individuals, our existence extends beyond merely the physical and that every thing and everyone in our Universe is ultimately connected. We believe spirituality involves the evolution of human consciousness, spiritual awareness and acceptance.

Are you associated with any religious organisations?

No.

Which particular belief systems do you follow?

nibbana and it's founder are completely independent and do not endorse, encourage or follow any particular belief system or philosophy. Our aim is to open minds and encourage awareness and self exploration.

What is your aim?

Our aim is to encourage everyone to accept and respect the many different individual beliefs that exist. We encourage people to think for themselves, make their own decisions and find their own answers based on their own intelligence, knowledge and what 'feels' right for them. Through this, we believe our society as a whole will benefit by individuals becoming more conscious and more personally responsible for their decisions and choices, through a greater understanding of the unknown as well as the known.

Do you claim to have the answers for people on a spiritual journey?

No. We encourage people to think for themselves, make their own decisions and find answers for themselves. Whether those answers come from books, film, teachers, the latest scientific research or their own personal discovery and experience, we encourage people to ask questions and trust the answers that feel right and make sense for them. Keep an open mind, let go, trust and enjoy the journey.

Do you consider yourself a new age company?

No. We consider ourselves an organisation that is operating in the NOW age.

What is the now age?

In our view, we believe society has a more mature and developed understanding and perception of spirituality than it did in previous decades. We feel that spirituality has now 'grown up'... 'come of age' if you like, and is an integral part of our culture. Therefore it needs to be referred to in a more appropriate way - that is very reflective of how we are NOW. Hey, let's start a new trend and start putting it out there - enter the now age!

What kind of customers do you attract?

Because of our dedication to bringing spirituality to a wider, mainstream audience in a professional, intelligent and insightful way, we have already attracted a diverse following in Australia, New Zealand and more recently, around the world. Our customer base is very diverse, ranging from medical doctors, lawyers, accountants, senior management and academics to marketing managers, entrepreneurs, personal trainers, counsellors, alternative therapy practitioners and more.

Is it possible to create a commercial business that is also spiritual?

Absolutely. By integrating the wisdom of the ages, science, business principles and spiritual values - we are building nibbana as a sustainable, professional and innovative company that delivers benefits to everyone that we deal with. By working in a collaborative way, everyone actually achieves much more and on every level - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It's much more satisfying, productive, profitable and fun for everyone!
